Version One’s Managing Director Elected onto BASDA General Council
Document management and imaging software author, Version One, today announces that its Managing Director, Julian Buck, has become a member of the Business Application Software Developers Association’s (BASDA) General Council. Buck was voted onto the General Council following a confidential ballot held at BASDA’s annual conference and AGM on 24 May 2010 and will remain an elected member for three years.
The General Council is the governing body of BASDA which comprises a group of twelve elected representatives from member companies. The BASDA General Council is responsible for influencing the future direction and development of the association and meets on a quarterly basis to consider all matters of policy relating to its members.
Jairo Rojas, Director General of BASDA, comments, “As the head of a very active and socially-responsible software company, Julian is a most welcome addition to our General Council. Julian’s commitment to both the software industry and sustainable working practices will add considerable value to BASDA. We embrace his fresh ideas, which will prove key to driving forward our objectives in areas such as sustainability, data protection and e-business.”

Founded in 1993, BASDA represents almost 200 of the world's leading business application software suppliers and partners and is the acknowledged voice of the business software applications industry. Version One has been an active member of BASDA for a number of years and in 2008 signed-up to BASDA’s landmark Green Charter initiative. This Green Charter commits organisations to tackling climate change both within their own businesses and through organisations' use of their software products.
