Preferred Homecare deploys Authentidate's electronic order authorisation system for physicians

Preferred Homecare, the US home healthcare firm, has deployed Authentidate's Inscrybe Healthcare electronic workflow system to improve service to patients.

Inscrybe Healthcare facilitates information exchanges with referring physicians for all types of healthcare transactions required for the authorisation of home medical equipment and supplies for patients.

The web-based service automates manual workflow processes and is designed to efficiently track the status of physician communications, reducing the time it takes to obtain completed healthcare documentation from those referring physicians. The streamlined workflows improve the efficiency of clinical and administrative processes, reducing operating expenses and uncollected revenues, said Authentidate.

"We decided to implement Inscrybe Healthcare because of its reputation for streamlining communications with referring physicians. It interfaces with our CareCentric Mestamed system, which helps us to speed-up the processing of referrals and related approvals for patient care, as well as reducing errors and administrative costs," said David Scheven, Co-CEO of Preferred Homecare.

Physicians decide whether to review and sign documentation on the secure Inscrybe website or receive and send documents by fax. This flexibility enhances communications between referring physicians and providers because each party can do business the way they prefer. Electronic or fax replies are linked to the initial request and updated on all systems automatically.

Authentidate's web-based services are delivered as an on-demand SaaS service to customers, interfacing with billing and document management systems.
