Canon is partnering with Adobe to improve the digital document management capabilities of its new print, scanning and copier systems.
Canon will promote a number of Adobe technologies within the new Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series, aimed at knowledge workers in the areas of document output, workflow and security.
The technologies include Adobe PostScript 3 Printing to improve document control and quality, and Adobe PDF technology to enhance end-user information workflows within PDF-centric business processes.
In addition, Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management ES is being made available via imageRUNNER ADVANCE control panels. This will allow users to easily apply LiveCycle document security policies to scanned documents, "assuring valuable corporate information is protected regardless of where and to whom it is sent", said Canon.
Gary Horsfall, director of global sales and professional services at Canon Business Solutions Europe, said, “The combination of Canon and Adobe technologies will allow both companies to offer their customers enhanced document management solutions as well as improved document security.”
