Oce says its colour inkjet systems can now be successfully used by firms to print secure digital financial documents, including cheques.
Security features have been incorporated into Oce's JetStream high-speed colour inkjet systems, which are using Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) to deliver them.
Oce says healthcare firms are using the new security capabilities to produce explanations of benefits and marketers like Direct Group are creating promotional cheques. The security features are being provided by Arcis Digital Security
"We've already moved beyond the potential to the practical, with customers benefitting today from the Oce JetStream family of high-speed colour inkjet systems with integrated MICR, combined with state-of-the-art security features from Arcis Digital," said Guy Broadhurst, vice president of new technology and client development in the Oce production printing systems division.
Andrew McTaggart, managing director of Arcis Digital Security, said, "We have integrated our Digital Void Pantograph technology into the Oce JetStream system, thereby allowing Oce customers to incorporate a reliable and well recognised anti-copy technology as an alternative to buying pre-printed security paper stock."
As a result, Oce is giving customers access to anti-fraud security features like void pantographs and Prismatic Design Document technology for secure document and cheque printing. The Prismatic Design Document is a special prismatic colour printed on a document for added security.
