Marshall County Hospital uses Fortis electronic document management to cut costs

Marshall County Hospital in Kentucky is cutting costs with Westbrook Technologies' Fortis enterprise document management ( EDM) software.

Marshall County Hospital is using Fortis to cut costs as a result of speedier accounts payable and billing processes, easier collaboration between departments, and using less paper storage space.

"When I started looking at which document management system would be the best fit for us, the main goal was to save space and promote better overall organisation in our new facility," said Patrick Waters, director of IT at Marshall County Hospital. "Previously, we had filing cabinets everywhere full of paper requiring time consuming searches for patient documents."

Waters said, "Staff now scan documents to easily track and retrieve invoices and purchase orders. We also use Fortis to archive and reconcile bank statements, and for year-end reporting."
