Law firm Stephenson Harwood Legal deploys network-based document security system
International law firm Stephenson Harwood Legal has deployed a network-based document security system to protect the confidential files it moves internally and across the web.
The firm has installed the Ipswitch MOVEit DMZ system to deliver complete visibility and control of information moving internally and externally.
Stephenson Harwood Legal, based in London, has more than 90 partners and 500 employees, providing expert local knowledge in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.
“Our customers, which include banking, financial services, energy and transportation companies, trust us to keep their confidential information safe,” said Chris Petrie, director of IT at Stephenson Harwood Legal. “Ipswitch MOVEit DMZ gives us a fast, easy and secure way to transfer files of any size, create a reliable audit trail of information moving in and out of our organisation, and confirm that important files reach the intended recipients," said Petrie.
The firm explored a few different managed file transfer offerings, before bringing in HANDD Business Solutions, an independent provider of managed file transfer, FTP and data automation solutions. HANDD specified the Ipswitch MOVEit DMZ platform as a secure managed file solution that met all of Stephenson Harwood Legal’s requirements.
“We now have a simple, secure solution that meets all of our file transfer needs, including successfully transferring large files to clients with very limited email servers,” Petrie said.
MOVEit DMZ provides policy enforcement and complete visibility into all internal and external data activities, including files, events, people, policies, processes and audits. The system can provide encrypted files, messages and data transfers when needed.
“We have far more control over files moving in-and-out of our organisation, with the added ability to set timing parameters around temporary users to automate the disabling of accounts when projects are completed,” said Petrie.
