Lawyers offered cloud-based e-brief production system by Brief-Lynx
Lawyers are being offered a cloud-based e-brief production system from Brief-Lynx.
Electronic briefs, or e-briefs, have been in use by the legal profession since the early nineties, but until now, said Brief-Lynx, e-brief production has been costly, time-consuming and neither as accurate nor as user-friendly as filing traditional briefs.
The new Brief-Lynx application is cloud-based, meaning it is securely stored entirely online and can be accessed by and shared between authorised users from any computer with a web connection.
US-based Brief-Lynx said its application is designed to make briefs simpler for law firms, judges and arbiters. Attorneys can submit e-briefs more affordably than ever before, while judges can more easily access and review e-briefs, it said.
“Our goal was to streamline the entire e-briefing process, giving attorneys and their support staff a fast yet powerful tool to link documents within an electronically filed brief, and then to modify them as needed,” said David Vanderport, president of Brief-Lynx.
Brief-Lynx also enables easier modification of e-briefs while allowing law firms to insert links to specific locations within supporting documents, without the need to create links in Adobe Acrobat. Brief-Lynx can link e-briefs to precise evidence, case citations, graphics and other supporting materials.
With Brief-Lynx, law firms can continue to revise their briefs right up to delivery time at court. Brief-Lynx also allows attorneys to copy their e-briefs to CD or DVD.
Brief-Lynx is offering a free demo of its Brief-Lynx application. Those interested in trying out the system can create a demo account at https://legal.brief-lynx.com/.
