South Dakota state is making its courts more efficient with the use of Tyler Technologies' Odyssey case management and document management technology in circuit courts throughout the state.
The agreement, worth over $8.8m, includes software licenses, professional services, ongoing maintenance and support. South Dakota is the sixth statewide deal won by Tyler for the Odyssey system, following Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Indiana, and North Dakota.
Tyler's case management system will streamline court administration and access to case information across South Dakota' 66 counties and seven judicial circuits. In addition to the Case Manager system, the state will implement Odyssey's Courtroom, Supervision, and eSignatures systems. The state will also deploy a document management system that includes Tyler's Wiznet eFile & Serve.
South Dakota state court administrator Patricia Duggan said, "Our legacy case management system was implemented in the 1980s and we needed to replace it with a system that provided robust functionality, maintainability, and ease of use."
