Rockford Mutual Insurance in the US has increased efficiency and reduced costs with the deployment of an electronic document management and workflow system from Interactive Intelligence.

The Interactive Intelligence products used by Rockford Mutual are part of the AcroSoft line, designed to streamline insurance processes by digitising documents into electronic format for more effective access and routing.

Rockford Mutual Insurance vice president of claims Roger Kaage said, "The Interactive Intelligence content management and workflow products have helped us increase efficiencies by enabling us to more easily and quickly share information between our systems, while at the same time reducing errors by eliminating the need for rekeying."

He said, "These efficiencies have also led to lower operating costs by re-allocating human resources so we're able to process more claims without adding staff. Plus, we use less paper which not only adds to our cost savings, but is better for the environment."

Prior to the deployment, the firm had never previously used an electronic content management product. "We needed a solution that was easy to use and could integrate with our existing databases," said Kaage.

Rockford Mutual Insurance plans to expand its Interactive Intelligence deployment this year to support its underwriting department. Interactive Intelligence is a specialist provider to the insurance industry.
