Leading US trucking carrier CRST has deployed a new electronic document management system for its drivers to improve efficiency and save money.

CRST's Van Expedited group has deployed the Express Indexing and TRANSFLO Express truck stop scanning systems from Pegasus TransTech. TRANSFLO Express and Express Indexing can be used to speed billing and payroll cycles, improve cash flow, reduce operating costs, and provide same day proof-of-delivery to customers.

Van Expedited has 3,400 company drivers and independent contractors deployed on long-haul US, Canada and Mexico routes.

Express Indexing is a paperless software system that reduces the time and number of people required to route and process incoming electronic documents. Express Indexing software correctly identifies and indexes document images so that they can be routed to the proper department, like billing, payroll, or safety for instance.

"CRST looked to reduce costs and processing delays associated with outsourcing indexing tasks." said Scott Szymanek, vice president of financial planning at CRST. "Express Indexing allows CRST to speed the flow of documents throughout our organisation more cost efficiently."

At the same time CRST Van Expedited has implemented TRANSFLO Express. Proof-of-delivery, bills of lading, expense receipts, logs, accident reports and more can arrive from truck stop scanning systems or from in-house document scanners.

With TRANSFLO Express, delivery documents are scanned at truck stops by trained cashiers, and delivered within seconds to the fleet's corporate office for immediate processing. TRANSFLO Express scanning is available at more than 500 truck stops.
