Diversified acquires Bowman to expand document management business

Diversified Information Technologies has acquired Bowman Enterprises to expand its document management business in the health and government sectors.

Diversified, which specialises in document lifecycle management, said the Bowman acquisition would expand its document management services business. The value of the acquisition price was not disclosed.

Diversified's offering includes records management for both physical and electronic records storage, electronic mailroom processing, and information management consulting. Bowman provides document imaging and management services, primarily in the healthcare and government sectors.

“This is our second strategic acquisition in the past six months and further expands our footprint in the healthcare industry, where we see a great deal of opportunity in the implementation of electronic medical records (EMR),” said Diversified CEO Scott Byers.

In October 2009, Diversified acquired Active Data Services, a document imaging, print and electronic presentment provider. Diversified, Bowman and Active are all headquartered in the US.
