Leading US patent lawyer Young & Thompson has deployed First To File's Electronic File Room (EFR) platform to more efficiently manage its patent prosecution workflow.
EFR is a web-based patent prosecution and document management service that promises to increase Young & Thompson's (Y&T) client service levels and overall productivity.
Y&T files around 1,500-1,700 patent applications per year, and manages more than 8,000 patent cases each day. To improve its service the firm is moving towards eliminating paper in favour of all-digital systems.
"First To File's Electronic File Room is tailored for patent prosecution environments. FTF's paperless service will help us lead the legal industry in client service and substantially increase operational efficiency," said Chris Sale, office administrator at Y&T. "FTF's EFR met our standards for responsiveness, ease of use, and preservation of client confidential information."
First To File's patent document management service is a SaaS-based system that manages intellectual property-related data and actions both inside and outside an organisation, including at outside agencies like the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
EFR features a tri-fold view of correspondence, file history and documents that is familiar to patent lawyers.
