CBA corporate banking customers to get digital identities

Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) is assigning digital identities to its corporate customers using the IdenTrust certification scheme.

The bank has signed a five-year deal with IdenTrust, with the technology allowing CBA corporate customers to use legally-binding IdenTrust digital signatures to authorise online banking transactions.

As part of the deal, IdenTrust will also provide certificate authority hosting services.

The digital identities used by CBA will be recognised across the IdenTrust trust network, covering banks and firms in 175 countries.

CBA corporate customers will start getting the IdenTrust service before the end of the year.
