Toppan launches wireless document tracing system
Toppan Printing and subsidiary Toppan Forms have developed a document storage box management system that uses UHF band RF (radio frequency identification) tags to ease document management.
The wireless management system has just gone on sale and is designed to be used in the document storage centres run by firms. With document storage compliance requirements widening in response to corporate and financial regulatory demands, Toppan is hoping to cash in.
The system sees document boxes containing integrated RF tags being sold with the necessary software and data readers, allowing staff to quickly trace the document boxes they need in response to business enquiries and regulatory requirements.
Using the system, Toppan says it is possible to read RF tags for around 600 boxes in one minute, with staff not having to rely on using visual labels or scanning barcodes on racks.
