Information management industry body AIIM has published a free e-book outlining why firms should adopt electronic document management ( EDM) and green IT "before it's too late".

The "8 Reasons You Need a Strategy to Manage Information - Before It’s Too Late" book says it is "strategically imperative to manage information effectively, with devastating consequences for those who assume it is otherwise".

AIIM president John Mancini said, "The sheer quantity of information that is descending upon our organisations is rapidly creating a set of circumstances in which we will no longer be able to just ignore this problem. As our employees reach outside the firewall to access critical expertise, networks, content and markets, the lines between what is 'organisational' and what is 'personal' are becoming meaningless."
