Astaro’s first hosted service is allowing organisations to archive their emails in the cloud to save storage space and time.

Astaro, a specialist in unified threat management, says its Mail Archiving for Microsoft Exchange system allows unlimited storage and reduces administrative duties.

Astaro Mail Archiving provides companies with unlimited email storage for an indefinite amount of time, based on a monthly fee per user without any additional costs.

Users no longer have to manually archive emails on internal hard drives, saving storage space and reducing admin time. Astaro said the system includes a fast email search feature via the web or by using a Microsoft Outlook plug-in.

The hosted platform also includes special auditor privileges for discovery tasks and audit logging capabilities to allow organisations to easily comply with local regulations.

Gert Hansen, vice president of product management at Astaro, said, “Intelligent archiving means you can delete every email without worrying about needing the information in the future. Every email will be easily retrievable even after it is deleted from your inbox, just by doing a quick search.”
 
As employees get used to deleting emails which are no longer needed, said Hansen, fewer emails need to be stored on the internal server, which leads to shortened back-up times and maintenance efforts.
