Eversheds deploys Mimecast email document management in the cloud to improve business continuity
International legal firm Eversheds has embraced the cloud to deliver email document management across the firm to improve business continuity.
Eversheds will use the Mimecast software-as-a-service email security, continuity, policy control and archiving platform across all international regions.
Eversheds has selected Mimecast’s Unified Email Management system to provide enhanced business continuity, email archiving and security services as well to reduce the cost and complexity of handling the firm’s rapidly expanding email storage requirements.
The legal firm has signed a three-year contract with Mimecast. The implementation has already begun with Mimecast working alongside Eversheds’ on-premise archive solution, to deliver a secure and easy-to-search record of all email communications which will be accessible from within Microsoft Outlook.
The new system will support over 4,500 users. Paul Caris, CIO at Eversheds, said, "Mimecast provides us with a superb business continuity platform. There will inevitably be times when Microsoft Exchange is unavailable, either for planned maintenance or other unforeseeable reasons.
"With Mimecast we have the technological back-up to keep our people working during an Exchange outage with no disruption to the services we provide to clients. Adopting a fully cloud-based solution will also enable us to make a cost-saving by eliminating the growing burden of email storage."
